Why Okocha PSG return made Zlatan beam

Former PSG Number 10 Jay-Jay Okocha returned to his old club last weekend and showed fans and current team members he can still dazzle on the pitch.

Now 42-years old, the trickster was invited back to the Parc des Princes and was presented on the pitch ahead of PSG’s clash against Monaco.

After receiving adulation from the terraces, Okocha left the scene with a typically audacious flick of the ball in the centre-circle, which left those in close witness including Zlatan Ibrahimovic – himself, no stranger to showboating impudence – with beaming smiles as they applauded.

The former Nigerian captain, who graced the shirt of PSG between 1998 and 2002 told PSG TV reasons why he joined the club, and how they’re still close to his heart:

I think it was an obvious choice, because I enjoyed the atmosphere here at the World Cup [France’98] even though I was highly disappointed at how we exited the tournament. But the atmosphere and the support that we had made me decide to come to PSG once I got the offer.

I still follow the team, and I must say that I’m jealous of the players that they’ve got now because it must be a dream to play in this squad.

To see the financial power and the stability that the team has got now, I believe they have finally found where they belong and where they’re supposed to be.

It’s a joy to say that I am a Parisian – a fan of PSG – because they are on top of their game now.
