Sony FC: 2002 – 2010
A team formed by the workers of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s Quality Assurance department in Liverpool. Sony FC competed in the St.Helens Combination Saturday league (although their inaugural season took place on a Sunday) for the duration of its existence, due to the lack of space in the Liverpool based leagues at the time, and a lack of council pitch availability.
Before winning a league championship in stunning style in one of its final seasons, the club gained early infamy throughout the leagues for having its original full team name, Sony FC Quality Assurance, shortened in the Liverpool County FA Handbook to read: Sony FC Quality Ass.
