This historic and rare clip shows Roberto Baggio attempting to score with an audacious attempt against Lazio in 1995, as Juventus chased their first Scudetto in eight seasons.
Only Baggio would have the presence of mind and vision to attempt to spin the ball into the goal from an acute angle, tricking goalkeeper Luca Marchegiani into reading a cut-back cross which never came and therefore leaving the goal unguarded.
If not for the persistence of defender Paolo Negro running back to make a goal-line clearance, the ball would have bounced and surely spun into the net – and would have been yet another magical goal scored by the genius fantasista.
