Isco & Beckham hail ‘right Real man’ Zidane

One current, and one former, Real Madrid player have hailed Zinedine Zidane for the way he has taken to life as a high-profile coach.

Zidane took over the Real Madrid reins in the wake of Rafael Benitez’s sacking in January and has duly guided the team to the Champions League final, uniting a perceived unhappy squad in the process.

Isco was one of the players invigorated by the fantasista legend’s appointment as coach and has lauded his impact ahead of the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid, stating:

There’s not too much to say about Zidane because the results speak for themselves – 12 consecutive league victories and a Champions League final – he’s really improved morale at the club.

We all know his history here where he won almost everything and made football enjoyable for everyone, so it’s a pleasure to be trained by him.

Meanwhile, Zidane’s former teammate David Beckham has appealed for stability at the club now that the French idol is at the helm – even if the team fails in its quest to win an 11th European Cup.

Madrid needs stability and continuity. It would be good if Zizou continues for some time and that they maintain the players they have today. Even if they don’t win the Champions League, it would be good to let Zizou work.

The ex-England captain went on to lavish praise on the mercurial playmaker who he shared midfield with from 2003 to 2006 before Zidane’s abrupt retirement from football.

Besides being a great friend, he is the person that is most passionate about football and Real Madrid that I have met and the best player I’ve ever played with.

Zizou, who won everything, was chosen the best player in the world several times and he experienced many situations, first-hand. There is no former player who garners more respect and admiration.

I wasn’t born to coach but Zizou, yes. It was only natural that he would end up coaching the team. At this time, they [Real] must be very happy with Zizou.

His job in any case is very difficult because in the last five years, Madrid have had to face the best Barca in history.

Barca is a monster, a well thought out and constructed team, with youngsters that are promoted from the youth team and with Messi, who is from another planet.
